Concepts x Asics Are Feeling Patriotic With The Gel-Lyte V “Libertea”
The Boston Tea Party is as large of a part of American history as nearly any other event. It symbolized rebellion, independence, and the destruction of perfectly good tea leaves. This rebellion served as a powder keg that would eventually lead to the American Revolution and what we now know as Independence Day. Boston-based Concepts holds a special place for the Tea Party and has honored the event the best way they know how by designing a special pair of sneakers.
The Concepts x Asics Gely-Lyte V “Libertea” is as patriotic in design as can be, with the colors of the flag consuming the upper. Red suede on the heel, navy blue on the eye stays and tongue, and off-white around the toe. Gold trim for the Asics logo with stars and stripes-themed alternate laces really makes this shoe unique. Last but not least is the packaging; the shoe box is designed to look like one of the shipping crates full of tea that ultimately ended up in Boston Harbor.
